There is nothing better than a porch swing, a hot summer day, and this drink. And while I recommend that you try it as written, it is also pretty fantastic when made with other fruits. We really love it made with fresh cherries. And for the kids…it’s just as great without the bourbon!

Black Raspberry Bourbon Lemonade

1 Tablespoon granulated sugar

1/2 cup black raspberries (either frozen berries or very ripe fresh berries.) *

6 mint leaves, plus more for garnish

1/2 cup of strong lemonade

1.5. oz. bourbon, like Maker’s Mark

Club soda

  1. In a large glass add the sugar, raspberries and mint leaves. Using a muddler, smash the berries and leaves to release the juices from the berries and the oils from the leaves.. Add a shot of bourbon.

  2. Fill the glass with ice and add the lemonade. Top with club soda.

  3. Garnish with mint leaves, lemon slices, and extra black raspberries.

*This drink includes the seeds from the berries. If seedless is preferred, smash the raspberries well, strain them, and use only their juice.
