The countdown to Christmas is here! There is a lot of magic in the air (AND a lot of stress trying to get everything finished in time haha)! When you decide you need a break from the tinsel, Christmas lights, and wrapping paper, grab these ingredients and lose yourself in what I promise is the most amazing Christmas drink you will ever taste. Even I wasn’t expecting it to turn out quite this great when we were experimenting with it. But it will for sure be on our rotation every winter.
The peppermint is important - it looks like it is just a garnish, but within seconds the flavor melds with the rest of the ingredients and really makes this drink!
If you’re like me, and the idea and reality of drinking heavy cream doesn’t sit too well with you, this drink also works really well with a lower-fat milk or even non-dairy milk. Try coconut milk, oat milk, and almond milk!
Ingredients
2 oz. strong-brewed coffee, cooled
2 oz. maple syrup
2 oz. vodka
Heavy Cream (or use a non-dairy milk like oat milk or almond milk)
Crushed peppermint candy
Ice
Instructions
1. Combine the coffee and maple syrup and stir well.
2. Pour over a short glass of ice cubes and add the vodka. Stir well.
3. Slowly pour the cream (or milk) over the top allowing it to sit on top of the coffee/vodka mixture.
4. Garnish with plenty of crushed peppermint!
